Secondary School Workflow
The Manaiakalani pedagogy ‘Learn, Create, Share’ puts our young people at the very centre of their learning. Consequently harnessing the affordances of digital technology, through Visible Learning and Teaching, for secondary schools requires a considered deployment of technology informed by learning focused actions.
This site brings together pedagogy, processes and procedures that we have identified best support the goals of Manaiakalani and contribute to enabling our schools to improve learning outcomes for our young people.
Secondary Class site basics
Matt Goodwin's example site (see right) has many of the basic elements to get started with a secondary school class site. Things you'll want to include are;
A welcoming home page, photo of you, contact info, maybe your timetable
Set up top level pages for your subjects and/or year level
Add a footer at the bottom of the site with links to other sites used i.e. Hapara, Kamar, NZQA, school website, ixl, ,
Setting up your class site
Amie Williams our facilitator based in Tairawhiti has kindly created a range of how to videos showing you how to add elements to your class site. For extra one on one support check in with your locally based facilitator or ask about enrolling on our Digital Fluency Intensive Course.
