Curriculum Refresh Overview -
Our first Secondary Connect!
Amber Davidson (MOE Curriculum Advisor, Tai Tokerau) breaks down the latest updates to Te Mātaiaho | The New Zealand Curriculum.
The new Te Mātaiaho framework focuses on a more straightforward, knowledge-rich design. Instead of the previous "Understand, Know, Do" (UKD) model, it now prioritises a clear, logical sequence of learning. This ensures that teaching is explicit and that new skills are built step-by-step, while still giving schools the flexibility to include local stories and context that matter to their community.
If you missed this session, you can watch the video recording below, and if you want to contact Amber directly you can email her at Amber.Davidson@education.govt.nz
